Woerden is our home base
Our office is on the Merelstraat, right in the heart of Woerden. That means we know the Woerden housing market inside out — from the historic fortress with its canals and cheese market to the post-war neighbourhoods and the new-build on the west side of town. For every home in Woerden we provide an official, EP-online registered energy label, which is required when selling or renting and can lead to a lower interest rate when applying for a mortgage.
Because we are based here, we are on site quickly and do not pass on travel costs. We can often schedule the inspection at short notice.
Energy label by neighbourhood in Woerden
The building period largely determines which energy label you can expect. The overview below gives an indication; the final result depends on the specific property and any insulation already in place.
| Neighbourhood | Typical property type | Expected label |
|---|---|---|
| City centre (fortress, around the Voorstraat & cheese market) | Monumental properties, often single glazing | E–G |
| Bloemen- en Bomenbuurt, Schilderskwartier | Homes from the 1930s–50s | C–E |
| Molenvliet, Staatsliedenkwartier | Post-war construction (1970s–80s) | C |
| Snel en Polanen | Vinex new-build 1990s–2000s | B–C |
| Waterrijk | Recent new-build, partly gas-free | A–A++ |
Listed monument or protected cityscape?
The Woerden city centre, with its fortress structure, the Petruskerk and the buildings around the cheese market, has many national and municipal monuments and is partly a protected cityscape. Since 29 May 2026 an energy label is also required for monuments when selling or renting. For a historic property with single glazing the label is usually somewhat lower — that is normal and you are not obliged to make improvements. Read more in our article on the energy label for monuments.
What our advisor measures during the inspection
The property inspection takes on average 60 to 90 minutes. Our BRL 9500-certified advisor records, among other things:
- All surfaces bordering the outside, crawl space, unheated rooms or water
- The insulation values of roof, facade, floor and glazing (U-values)
- The heating installation and hot-water system (boiler, heat pump)
- Ventilation and any solar panels
The calculation follows the NTA 8800 standard. During the inspection you always receive free personal improvement advice.
