What is the improvement advice?
The Hollands Duurzaam energy label improvement advice is a calculated indication of your new energy label class after a sustainability measure, such as solar panels, cavity wall, roof or floor insulation, new glazing, a heat pump, ventilation with heat recovery or a new central heating boiler. We take your existing energy label (issued on or after 1 January 2021) as the basis and add the measure using the NTA 8800, the same method as for an official label.
- Price: € 85 including VAT, paid in advance with iDEAL. Free if your current label was made by us.
- Delivery: within 5 working days at the latest, usually within one working day.
- Deduction: have the new label made by us within 2 months and you get € 85 off.
- Guarantee: does the improvement advice say your label goes up, but it stays the same after the survey while your information was correct? Then you get the € 85 back.
- Also in advance: considering a measure? We calculate the quotation before you have anything done.
Who is the improvement advice for?
Your label is older than your measure
You have an energy label, but since then solar panels were installed, a heat pump was added or you insulated. Your label does not update by itself. We calculate which class your home would get now.
You are considering a measure
You have a quotation for, say, solar panels, cavity wall or roof insulation, but first want to know what it does for your label. For example because you are selling or renting out, or because a higher label counts for your mortgage or your rental points.
Condition: your current label was issued on or after 1 January 2021. Labels from before that date were calculated with an old method that cannot be compared with the current NTA 8800. Improvement advice then makes no sense.
No label, or a label from before 2021? Then it is better to have a new label made straight away. Request a new energy label here.
How it works
- Fill in your details and upload your files. You enter your address and upload the PDF of your current label and the quotation and invoice for the measure. We check your files straight away: does the label belong to your address, is it recent enough and is everything complete? If everything is in order, you continue to payment (€ 85 with iDEAL).
- We do the calculation for you. We take your existing label as the basis and add the measure, using the same method as for an official label.
- You receive the result by email. Within 5 working days at the latest (usually within one working day) you know whether your label goes up and to which class.
What you get
- Your expected new label class, next to your current class. You see at a glance what the measure achieves.
- A clear explanation: what the measure does and why your class does or does not change.
- Label going up? Then have us draw up the new energy label within 2 months; you receive a € 85 discount from us on the registration of the new energy label. We stand by that: if the inspection shows your label does not change after all, while you supplied all information correctly, you get your € 85 back and we do not register a new label. You then pay nothing.
- Label staying the same? Then our improvement advice has saved you a lot compared with having a new label drawn up without knowing in advance whether it will be better.
The result is a calculated indication. The new label is final after the inspection of your home and registration in EP-Online. We do not hand over input values or calculation files.
Why does your energy label not go up by itself?
An energy label is a snapshot. It describes your home as it was on the survey date and is registered that way in EP-Online, the official register of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). If you install solar panels or insulate the cavity wall afterwards, the old label simply stays in place. It is valid for ten years, counted from the survey date. You only get a higher class with a new label, after a new survey by a certified advisor. That new label replaces the old one in EP-Online. The improvement advice tells you in advance whether that step is worth it.
Which measures count for your label?
Everything that lowers the calculated energy use of your home and can be proven counts. The most important:
- Solar panels: in our experience often the biggest label gain per euro invested.
- Heat pump: usually 1 to 2 label steps for a hybrid and 2 to 4 for a fully electric heat pump.
- Insulation of cavity wall, roof or floor, and HR++ or triple glazing. We need the material and thickness; an Rc value on the invoice does not count.
- Home battery: counts since 29 May 2026 if it is permanently connected, has at least 5 kWh and there are solar panels.
- Ventilation with heat recovery (WTW) and a more efficient boiler.
